About the department:

This is one of the Departments that have contributed to the understanding of the development of Indian and Western Philosophy under the syllabus of University of Gour Banga. The department is supported by a dedicated team of faculties who aim at effectively delivering a course in Philosophy, which is prominent for uniformly maintaining its standards of academic excellence over the years. The quality of students in the undergraduate programme is commendable. The undergraduate programme in Philosophy specially aims at shaping the higher academic skills of the students. The members of the faculty are involved in serious academic research.

Our students are extremely devoted and bright and we, as teachers can say that it is a pleasure to teach such excellent young minds and mould them for the future. Not only do they do excellently in academics, they are at the vanguard in extracurricular activities as well, winning numerous glories and representing the college in the field of sports and performing arts.

Activities:

We have an arrangement of Remedial Course funded by UGC for the backward classes (SC, ST) and minority students. Generally the members of faculty try to give best quality of education through divide them in to different groups. Not only has the cultural programme, Department also conducts academic seminar to enrich the academic environment. Once a year we successfully participate in the Annual Model Exhibition of our college.
