The Department of Commerce at Malda College enjoys a finest reputation for the excellence of its teaching in this dynamic discipline. It ranks alongside the most highly-rated departments in commerce among the undergraduate colleges of this region. The department is supported by a dedicated team of faculties who aim at effectively delivering a course in Commerce, which is prominent for uniformly maintaining its standards of academic excellence over the years. The quality of students in the undergraduate programme is commendable. The undergraduate programme in Commerce specially aims at shaping the higher academic skills of the students.

Our faculty and diverse student body from various social walks of life, all contribute towards the same purpose: to maintain the department’s excellent reputation in education at the cutting edge of economic, institutional and organizational aspects of commerce. We have an arrangement of Remedial Course funded by UGC for the backward classes (SC, ST) and minority students. Generally the members of faculty try to give best quality of education through divide them in to different groups. Not only has the cultural programme, Department also conducts academic seminar to enrich the academic environment.

The students have performed extremely well in various competitive examinations like CAT, XAT and MAT. B.Com students are actively involved in extracurricular activities both inside and outside the college. Every year we successfully participate in the Annual Model Exhibition of our college.
